Jeremy Miranda’s paintings explore memory and landscapes; his work is focused on the American views, panoramas of his homeland. Places and objects taken from his everyday life.
This first book is dedicated to the fall and winter seasons and will be followed by a “spring summer” volume next year.
Despite the empty spaces and nocturnal sceneries, the overall feeling, when looking at his works, is one of intimacy and warmth, the human presence is never represented, only suggested and yet his works are full of humanity.
The internal and external spaces interact with each other and with the objects. The fires and lights seem to draw a story that the observer can complete at will.
Miranda invites us to be part of the familiarity of his places, to experience them with our imagination, to eat his food and feel its flavour.
